Places in Qatar - Katara Cultural Village

MUST VISIT - SHOPPING, FOOD, SEA FRONT.

They call it a Village but it is more like a small town. Large areas to walk in, beautiful shops, lovely restaurant, architecturally beautiful. Sits on the edge of the water, with great views. Peaceful, relaxing end very enjoyable

An amazing place to have a wander around. It is a free place to go and visit, and there are often shows during holidays. The auditorium area is magnificent with lovely views across the bay to the Corniche and West Bay.

As with much of Qatar, if you go late in the afternoon and hang around until dusk the wait is worth it as the comes alive with lighting as darkness falls.

In my opinion, it is a better place to hang out than the Pearl. Don't get me wrong, the Pearl is certainly worth several visits, but Katara has better restaurants, is clearly the preferred place among the locals, and it is a great place to hang out at night.

As you wander about, there are some lovely open spaces with quite impressive buildings all around. For those motorheads amongst you, the very high-end shops mean that there are some impressive cars driving in and out as well.
